Lock every door book cover5/13/2023 All of the Sager novels feature engaging first person narrators, who are far from perfect and usually suffering from violent traumatic instances in their past. Sager used to write small town police detective thrillers under his own name of Todd Ritter, but moved into the domestic suspense arena with the Riley Sager pseudonym and his very successful first novel, Final Girls. Sager also has a terrific looking thriller, Home Before Dark, due out in June this year. I was a little slow in catching up with Riley Sager, but after greatly enjoying his second book, The Last Time I Lied (2018), I went back and read his very dark Final Girls (2017) and have just finished his most recent novel, Lock Every Door, which came out in the middle of 2019. If you like well plotted thrillers that cross the line between domestic suspense and something a bit darker, then Riley Sager is the author for you. He announced his departure from the title via his blog, saying the following: Rucka was given the reigns of Wonder Woman for her “back to her roots” approach in DC Rebirth, and the series so far has been exactly the Princess Diana that fans have been missing since the New 52 era began. This week, Wonder Woman fans were given the bummer news that veteran comics writer Greg Rucka would be leaving the character with issue #25 this July. The Passageway by Jeff Lemire5/13/2023 The idea for The Bone Orchard Mythos sprang from Sorrentino, who wanted to darker stories, but expansive like H. Publication history Įarly on, even before The Bone Orchard Mythos was announced, Jeff Lemire described the project as "the most ambitious thing and I have done together." During their first creator-owned work together, Gideon Falls, Lemire discovered that despite the complexity of the project, he and Sorrentino bounced ideas off of each other in a way that felt effortless, which made him feel like they could tackle a project even more challenging. It is designed to be a shared universe of self-contained horror stories told in various formats. The Bone Orchard Mythos is a comicbook project consisting of limited series, graphic novels, and one-shots by writer Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino, published by Image Comics. Original material for the series has been published as a set of limited series, graphic novels, and one-shot comics. Simply sinful kate pearce5/13/2023 Please don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike it, I just didn't find it wowing enough. The connection between me and the characters were somewhat lacking and it was more a story to read than to experience. While the pages are definitely hot and steamy, I thought this was just an okay read. You definitely should not disgrace your name, family or title and you definitely should keep your debauchery behind close doors.Ībigail and Peter are caught between wanting something they can never have and living a false livelihood. This is a time where one must uphold a certain decorum, a sense of responsibility and maintain a flawless-perfect front. Simply Irresistible is a short novella set in Regency England, where anything goes, sharing ones bed for the sake of pleasure. Kate’s instantly thrown into a highly competitive and occasionally absurd culture, where she interviews all types of children: suitable, wildly unsuitable, charming, loathsome, ingratiating, or spoiled beyond all measure. Miraculously, one cringe-worthy job interview leads to a position in the admissions department at the revered Hudson Day School. It seems that nothing will get Kate out of pajamas and back into the world. When ambitious grad student Kate Pearson’s handsome French “almost fiancé” ditches her, she definitely does not roll with the punches, despite the best efforts of family and friends.
